I love technology. When I was 8 years old one of the magazines I received monthly was Popular Science – their “new gadgets” section catches my eye to this day. This love of new technology morphed into a love of computers – which I could be found taking apart at age 12 – and led to a love of the possibilities available online.
Marketing a business today has the internet as an invariable piece of a successful puzzle. It is a medium to carry a message and better yet, it allows your consumers to find you and communicate with you.
Marketing is a technology too. There are aspects of marketing invented far before our own time – yet more relevant and useful today than ever. Claude Hopkins (inventor of the coupon) and Ogilvy are all the more applicable when read side by side with Seth Godin and David Meerman Scott.
Combining the technology of marketing with the new economy of the internet is exciting and rewarding. Done correctly with proper research, new technology and the internet can open an entirely new line of income for any business owner or non-profit.
